Do you have a minimum day requirement for renting a vehicle?
We are the ONLY rental company on the Big Island allowing one day rentals especially for those special DAY-TRIP to get to the summit of Mauna Kea, or even to that beach you’ve had your eye on.

Can we take our rental vehicle to the summit of Mauna Kea?
Yes, you can go to the summit of Mauna Kea in all our vehicles. If you venture to the summit you must follow all the driving laws and park guidelines. A copy of that information is in the travel guide as well as a link to the Mauna Kea park website.
Please note currently Waipio Valley is closed to tourists driving in but you can access the valley by using a tour shuttle service.
How do I pay and book my rental vehicle?
You may book on our website and pay with any major credit card. If you're using a foreign credit card you may need to call your issuing bank or credit card customer service to approve the charge before it will successfully process.
We require a $250 damage deposit if you use your own insurance. It is refunded after you return the vehicle with no damage or excessive wear and tear (example: ripped tires). Payment for the rental itself is due in full at the time of booking to secure your reservation. If you book online and do not pay then the vehicle you selected will still be available for anyone else to rent over your rental dates. The Damage Deposit will be automatically charged to your credit card on file 5 days before your rental begins.
We require documentation of auto insurance that will cover your rental vehicle. The document must show the name of insured drivers, effective dates over your rental period, insurance company name and the policy number.
If you do not meet the Protection requirements you can use our insurance coverage. If you use our coverage there are two options:
Daily Processing Fee $30/day plus tax and $250 Damage Deposit Required. Includes $2,000 deductible for liability coverage and $2,000 deductible for vehicle damage.
Daily Processing Fee $50/day plus tax and $250 Damage Deposit Required. Includes $500 deductible for liability coverage and $500 deductible for vehicle damage.
To honor the reservation, all prices are final after booking. We don't allow further discounts after the rental reservation is made.
You may cancel your reservation for full refund up to 72 hours prior to your scheduled reservation time.
What are my options for insurance while I drive the rental vehicle?

How do we pick up the vehicle?
Our location for Jeep rentals in Kona is 4 miles from the Kona International Airport at Keahole (KOA).
We now provide a Private shuttle service with Big Island Transportation when you book with us! ** FREE with a 5 day rental minimum**
They are the best transportation service on the island and have large vans, will track your flight, meet you at the baggage claim, load your luggage, and quickly deliver you to our location to pick up your rental vehicle.
You can catch an Uber, Lyft or local taxi from the airport. If you have a large group or a lot of luggage it will be easier to send one driver to pick up the vehicle while the others pick up bags from baggage claim. It takes about 20 minutes for the bags to show up after landing and we are less than 10 minutes away so timing works out well.
What do you need to complete a booking?
For all driver's we will need a copy/picture of
1) Valid/Current Drivers license
2) Vehicle Insurance Card
Do you guarantee the rental? Do you cancel trips on customers?
We guarantee our rental vehicles and have never had to cancel a trip on a renter. As a small business we do not overbook - the vehicle you book and pay for is secured for your use only. The only way we would have to cancel is if the renter before you wrecks the vehicle or damages it in some way that leaves it unsafe to operate, and that has never happened before.
How many additional drivers are allowed on a car?
First Driver is included. Each additional driver is $5/per trip. There is a maximum of (4) drivers allowed on each rental vehicle contract.
Do you have a minimum age for renting a vehicle?
All drivers must be at least 21 years of age and present a valid photo drivers license. *If you are under the age of 25 there is a young driver fee of $20/day + tax.
How many miles does my rental car cover?
You have unlimited miles with your rental vehicle!
What if I get a traffic fine or speeding ticket?
You must pay and take care of all your parking fines and traffic violations. These can be paid online by looking up the case number. If you do not know your case number we can look it up by license plate and share it with you. If you do not pay your ticket and we have to track you down to get the matter closed then you will also need to pay us a $40 processing fee for our time and effort to get the issue cleared.
Damaged/Lost Keys
Currently the Jeep keys cost $550 to replace and the Bronco keys cost $650. These replacement costs are expected to increase every year.
